History : The roots of The Humphreys Company go back for three generations. Jack Humphreys first began to develop real estate in the
1960's - primarily in Oklahoma and Texas. In the 80's and 90's, Kirk Humphreys (now our Chairman) was an investor and developer of free-standing retail in 8 states. By the late 90s, Grant Humphreys (third generation) formed a company to operate and develop commercial properties in the Oklahoma City area. In 2006, Grant and Kirk began to work together, forming what is now The Humphreys Company.
The civic mindset formed during Kirk's tenure as Mayor of Oklahoma City transferred into Grant's desire to see development play a part in urban revitalization. This new development philosophy continued to form with a better understanding of sustainable design, the New Urbanism, walkability and a triple bottom-line approach to business.
